Goldsborough Hall, Knaresborough Wedding Video

Saturday 29th July was the date that Sakura and Ben got Married and had asked Red Lime to film their amazing wedding.

The day started with the Groom and Best Man at Hotel du Vin, where they are mostly ready when we arrived; quite amazing since it was only 10:15am and the Wedding was not until 2pm. But they had a few things to do, so it did make sense. We shot a few pieces in their hotel room before heading down to the reception and courtyard as they had caught our eye on the way in. The reception was dark wood and beaten leather - just the setting for a Groom - manly!

We spend about 45 minutes capturing the two, whilst they casually sat chatting and relaxing, with just a few set shots - all nice and casual.

Next we headed to the Bride and as we arrived, so did the Photographer - Richard, from Wynn Davis Photography Richard, like myself, works with his wife and we met up with her at the Church later. It always helps when you 'get along' with the photographer, and Richard and Caroline were great fun, chatty and we all allowed the others room and time to get much

Working alongside a Photographer at Wedding is all about mutual respect and allowing each the space and time to work - and if we can have a laugh and a giggle, then all the better.

The Bride was getting ready at home surrounded by family and Bridesmaids. The room was really well lit, making filming such a pleasure and room for everyone to move with ease. We captured so much great footage, that editing the Bridal Prep was perhaps one of the biggest challenges to date (what to use and what to not use and so much was amazing) - More rather than less is ALWAYS good!

Whilst the Church was not picture postcard pretty on the outside; red brick and on a side street, inside was much more pleasing to the eye, with good light and very spacious. Our needs for filming were accommodated with ease by Father David, who also held an enjoyable Service.

The Reception was held at Goldsborough Hall. Our first time filming there and what a great place. The building, grounds and staff were excellent and the weather gave us the perfect amount of cloud cover and peek of blue skys. On arrival, Richard decided that it was worth getting the Bride and Groom shots in the bag immediately, so the couple would then be free to then mingle and relax with their guests. We tagged along as we usually do, to capture what we needed. Our approach on this part of the day is rather like the rest - discreet. We work from beside the Photographer/s, so we are not in their way, but still able to capture the stunning footage we need. Whilst the Photographer is after static poses, our aim is the bits where the couple move, so getting the shot before or after the photographers camera has clicked are the parts when we find smiles, giggles and the all important movement.

The rest of the Reception went as smoothly as we hoped and we filmed the Speeches and First Dance in full as part of the Package that Sakura and Ben had chosen.

We definitely liked what Goldsborough Hall offered us in the way of a setting and look forward to filming there again. As for Sakura and Ben, well, as you might imagine they loved their wedding videos and we may well see them again very soon as one of their friends is getting Married in the coming year.
