The final weddings of our 2018 Yorkshire wedding video season

Priory Barn and Cottages Wedding Film
As the weather slowly turned cooler, we still found colour, smiles, happiness and light for the final four weddings of our 2018 Wedding Video season.

In early November we headed to join Becca and Gary at The Priory Barn and Cottages near York. The couple had entwined winter tones in their floral and room decor. The venue provided a great location for the confetti shot, where the guests dropped petals over a balcony as the couple stood below. The Bridesmaid did a reading during the Ceremony 'How falling in love is like owning a dog'. The evening included a great sparkler opportunity, with a tunnel for the bride and groom to walk though being followed by a group shot of all the guests waving them.

We finished the evening with some smoke and lights outside to get some great footage of the couple amongst the thousands of little lights in the garden square at Priory Barn.

We filmed a full length feature film of Becca and Gary's wedding.. you can watch it here: Priory Barn Wedding Feature Film
We also filmed a short teaser for the couple too: Priory Barn Wedding Teaser

Lumley Castle Wedding Video
In late November we headed to Lumley Castle to film Judy and Daniels wedding. Daniel met Judy in America. A Colorado girl who wore Cowboy boots for her wedding. When we arrived at Lumley Castle the Bridal Suite was literally packed with people. The Bride had perhaps the largest Bridal party we have seen, add to that Flower Girls, their mothers, the couples mothers and grandparents, you can imagine the picture.

Lumley Castle is a very typical Castle, with all the character you might expect and the reason why an all American Girl wanted to get married there.

Whilst the weather was dry, it was typically grey - English winter grey, but the couple had planned some incredible table sparklers for their entrance to the Wedding Breakfast and a Firework display for later in the evening. Once the couple had cut the wedding cake, they smashed it into each other's faces, before their first dance, a father daughter dance and lots of high energy dancing joined by all their family and friends. Another unique aspect to Judy and Daniels day was the Bull riding machine, which the Bride and Groom rode before being opened up to all their guests.
Their day was literally packed from start to finish.

Thief Hall Wedding Video
In early December we joined Chelsie and Oliver at Thief Hall near Thirsk. Whilst Chelsie was quite nervous at the start of the day, once she walked into her Ceremony, the nerves went. It was however Ollies eyes that became quite tearful throughout the Ceremony (ahhhhh). Their dogs were Ring Bearers and behaved perfectly. Their day was a really fun and relaxed. We again broke out some smoke grenades with a great shot in the evening using lights too. When the light and grey winter sets in, you have to look to find was to add some WOW to a wedding and smoke grenades and lights are easy, fun and make great footage!

Chelsie and Oliver had written letters to each other - we always love this type of personal touch as it adds a really nice aspect to the finished wedding video.

Winter weddings can be given the WOW factor with some coloured smoke and lights - simple, fun and make an amazing addition to a wedding video.

Ripley Castle Wedding Video
Well that should have been all for our 2018 wedding video filming season, but then we received an email on Boxing Day. We were, at the time in Sweden for Christmas. The couple were getting married at Ripley Castle on New Year's Eve. They had taken the time to provide a detailed email outlining their wedding so that we knew what they wanted us to cover - perfect at any time, but especially a late booking.

Since we planned to be back in the UK for New Year and had no plans, we accepted.

The couple planned to get married during the day and have all the usual celebrations, but were looking for us to join them in the evening. This was like no other wedding for quite a number of incredible reasons. We joined the couple at about 7pm. As the evening events began, The Merri Minstrels dressed in appropriate clothing and playing a Hurdy Gurdy and other medieval instruments. There was then a procession into the Library, accompanied by some medieval dancers leading the couple ahead of them performing their 'first dance'.

Afterwards, the guests were invited to try their hand at learning some old English Medieval style dancing too, before everyone processed to the stairs for the second Ceremony of the day. The couple are a Folk Duo (Skinner and T'Witch) and had written a song that they sang during the Ceremony too. Throughout the evening there were a wide variety of singing and entertaining acts; Captain of the Lost Waves, Hassan Erraji and Oriental Craze being highlights. After an amazing firework display set against the backdrop of Ripley Castle, there was singing around a Grand Piano as the evening slowly came to a close.

We found 2018 an amazing year for wedding videography. The long hot summer gave us some great outdoor weddings, and we are so pleased with the variety of couples, locations, venues we got to film. If you are getting married and are looking for a wedding video, please get in touch, we would love to chat about the plans you have for your wedding.
